Once a judgment is paid, the credit report will show that the matter is resolved. The item is not removed from the credit report. The credit bureau will pick up information about the judgment and eventually about the resolution and report it to the other two.

You need to obtain from your adversary a Warrant To Satisfy Judgment, which tells the court the judgment has been paid in full. File this document with the court and keep a copy for yourself. You should also send a photocopy to all credit agencies so that they can update your credit report to reflect the judgment is satisfied.

The best thing you can do is contest the judgement on your credit report. The credit agencies will then use their means to verify the validity of the judgement which will come back paid. It should then be removed from your report in a few months.
