The Jacobite Rebellions (1688-1746) were a series of uprisings which unsuccessfully attempted, after the 1688-1689 Glorious Revolution, to depose William III and restore the Stuarts to the English throne.

The Jacobite rebellion was actually a series of rebellions in Britain between 1688 and 1746. In 1688, the House of Stuart was removed from the British throne and replaced by William and Mary, and the Jacobite rebellions aimed to return the Stuarts to power.
