Family issues can be very intense and even time consuming especially when it comes to money, children and property. Family court helps families who are making major changes decide how to properly distrubute important things throughout the family.

Family court in Missouri handles cases regarding child custody, child visitation disputes, guardianship of children in foster care, adoption, child abuse cases, juvenile delinquency, cases of kids skipping school (truancy), child abandonment and kids who wish to be declared adults.

It depends on the jurisdiction. Usually Family Court handles things that affect the "family;" like divorce, spousal support, adoption, child custody and/or child support and disputes in these matters. Cases regarding domestic abuse are heard, and protective order requests can be as well. Minors are not called. The court is closed and witnesses will come in as needed/if needed.

Divorces, custody issues and juvenile crimes are taken care of in family court. Adoptions are granted. Juveniles who commit crimes are sentenced and dealt with.
