Some plants you might want to try are Anacharis, Hygro, Water Wisteria, Rotalia Indica or Java Moss. Anacharis have thick leaves and grow quickly. Hygro have sword like leaves. Wisteria have different types but grow bushier with more light. Indica is a lot like Hygors but with smaller leaves.

There are several types of plants to choose from. Lilies and Aponogeton plants are large freshwater plants that can be used in a large aquarium or an outdoor pond. A really practical and useful freshwater plant would be the Fairy Moss or the Driccia. These plants float in the aquarium and make great hiding places for little fishes.
