Cuckoo catfish are one hundred percent compatible with same breed fishes. Sometimes they can be mixed with African cichlids or any fish that are bigger than them but less aggressive.

It should be with other cuckoo catfish since they are a schooling fish. Also it usually does well with african cichlids and catfish from the rift lakes. I think it would do well with any community or semi aggressive fish that is too big for the cuckoo catfish to swallow.

First off, Nice choice. These catfish are excellent for cleaning your tank of all the dirty stuff in the water your filter does not get to, and it will clean the walls of the tank. As far as compatibility, they are compatible with just about every fish; just not piranhas or sharks ;)

Suggest companions for the cuckoo catfish are Rock dwellers, mouth brooding cichlids from Lake Malawi and Tanganyika; as well as Rainbowfish, and Livebearers. When young the catfish can be kept in groups of 2-6, adults however should not be kept with more than three other fish.

Well goldfish are compatible with the catfish. You can also put pretty much any type of non violent with with these cat fish. But I would not recommend mixing any breeds together in a water tank. It is not always optimal although the fish may seem to get along well.

Cuckoo catfish are aggressive so you really only want to pair them with other cuckoo catfish. Remember these fish live up to fifteen years, so be they're what you want!

The cuckoo catfich, or Synodontis multipunctatus, is a small group fish. You should have at least 3 of these fish in your tank in order for them to be happy. They get along with other African Cichlid fish. There are a number of fish in this group. You can find about these by doing a computer search.
