In English, the verb tenses are past, present and future. Some languages have more tenses, like the aorist in Greek. when they are intermingled, it is said they disagree -- the timeline of the story is confused and continuity is lost. Iit looks like everyone is meeting themselves coming and going. Time looks like spaghetti with strands turning all around themselves.

There are a number of verb tenses in the English language. When writing, it is customary to maintain the same verb tense through the writing as it is appropriate. When there are errors with regard to verb tense, it looks like the writer lacks either awareness or understanding of the concept of verb tense.
