There are two distinct meanings for "glp". The first stands for "Good Laboratory Practices" which is a set standard for hypoallergenic materials used in jewelery (e.g. stainless steel). The second definition means "Gold Plated", meaning that the object is not solid, but has a small layer plated on the jewelery.

Probably this means George L. Paine Company, a company best known for making Edwardian styles and was operating in Attleboro, MA around the turn of the century.

Those initials are likely to be a company or maker's mark. The mark for gold filled or plated is usually 1/20 10K G.F. or rgp.
