ACA, or American Canine Association, is a growing registry. It is not affiliated in any way with the AKC or the UKC. ACA provides info on dog registration, health tracking, vet referrals & legislative issues. It also sanctions dog events and competitions in conformation, obedience, agility, hunting, field trials and French Ring.

ACA is short for the American Canine Association. This is where you register a dog that cannot be registered elsewhere. A dog having an ACA registration is not necessarily a thoroughbred.

ACA dog registration is registration for a dog in the American Canine Assoication. The ACA is often associated with less strigent breeders, and sometimes deplorable breeders such as puppymills. Having an ACA registered dog doesn't necesarily mean the dog is from a puppymill though.

ACA stands for the American Canine Association. The ACA is generally used to register dogs that can't be registered with other, more legitimate, organizations, for reasons such as they're not purebred, don't meet the breed standards, etc. ACA registered dogs cannot also be registered with the AKC. ACA registration really isn't worth anything, it just says you have a dog.

Not true. I have originally ACA registered red dapple mini doxie. I sent a 5 generation pedigree provided by ACA to the AKC and he was researched and approved (because of many AKC registered dogs in his pedigree) with a FULL and unlimited AKC registration!! Same as any other AKCdog!  add a comment

The above statement is NOT true. I have several dogs that are registered with AKC and ACA. Not only that I have used my ACA registration papers and ACA pedigree to research the background of some of my dogs and now they are AKC also.  add a comment

ACA stands for American Canine Association. The ACA should not be confused with the AKC which is a reputable dog registry. Puppy mills will use an ACA registry.

Contrary to popular belief, the AKC also unknowingly registers many dogs that come from puppy mills.  add a comment
