What does a Jeep G-Force sensor do?

What does this sensor do, and is it essential to my vehicle's performance?

on most vehicles the sensors that come equiped with them are not really essential perse but do provide a bit of convenience. Some sensors can be bothersome because they can sense your speed and shut down the engine. I would suggest leaving it be.

The g-force sensor is mainly used in association with Jeeps DHS stabilizer bar. It basically tell the car's computer what angle the vehicle is at and then it can adjust the suspension accordingly.

The Jeep G Force Sensor is a module containing a two axis accelerometer which plugs into the s200 Interface Box. It allows you to datalog lateral and longitudinal acceleration simultaneously. The G-Force Sensor allows you to datalog acceleration, cornering, and braking forces simultaneously while the vehicle is on the move.

A Jeep G-Force sensor senses the amount of G-force that your Jeep is exerting at the given speed that it is traveling at th moment. For example if you are traveling at 55 miles per hour, the Jeep G-Force sensor tells you what the G-force is at that speed.
