If it's a riding lawn mower you'll need a socket set, an oil pan, oil, and a new oil filter. If it's a push mower you'll need all the same things as above but also some blocks to set the mower on, giving you room underneath to work.

In order to change the oil in your lawnmower you would need the following; fresh oil, a proper size wrench, a pan to collect the used oil, and a number of "clean-up" rags. Also highly recommended would be to place a number of newspapers under the mower to eliminate a mess.

You need new oil, probably 20 ounces of SAE 30, and a pan to pour the old oil into. Check you mower for an oil drain plug and use it if you have it. If not, upend the mower and pour the old oil into the pan. Add new oil.

It is recommended that the oil in your Craftsman lawnmower be changed every spring. You can however wait up to every to years to change the oil. This will not harm the engine. However do not wait any longer than the two year period.

You need to buy a bottle of oil that is specific for the lawnmower that you have been using that time.

You will need craftsman oil only and your instruction book will tell you what kind you will need for your mower. And also when changing the oil it's also important to change the spark plug and to clean the air filer to replace the air filter for a successful mowing season.
