If you have a spinal cord injury it could cause extra pressure on your nerves which will make your left buttock and left leg numb.

It is possible that pressure on the sciatic nerve caused by a compressed spinal disk could be causing the numbness. Pain, particularly in the lower back would be another symptom of a compressed disk.

You could have a pinched Siatic Nerve. It could come from your L5 disc in your back that could be sitting on your nerve. Go to a doctor.
