Pain in or around the ovaries accompanied by abdominal swelling is often attributed to ovarian cysts or uterine fibroid tumors. Other causes could be pelvic inflammatory disease, diverticulitis, and endometriosis. Also, it could just be the pain of ovulation and swelling from impending menstrual cycle. Ovarian cancer is the most serious possibility.

These symptoms can be caused by cervical cancer, which is the most serious situation. It may also be a result of endometriosis, a condition where the eggs you release during ovulation attach themselves to tissues outside of your uterus. Your symptoms may also be an indication of an ovarian cyst.

If you are experiencing ovarian pain and ab swelling, you could have a cyst, or cysts on your ovaries. They can be very painfulo, and you should see the doctor. I f they are not too big they will probably go away themselves, some are too big and need medical treatment.
