Not having a spark could be from a number of things. If your ignition coils haven't been replaced recently, I would give that a try.

It could be numerous things, from first being bad plugs all the way to the battery. The starter also could be an issue or the alternator. These are all components to check.

Check to make sure the ignision fuse is not blow, then check the lead from the ignision to the distributer to make sure it is not broken or fouled.

It could be a loose cable or connection, or a bad battery, but most likely it's the computer control module. First off I'd double check all the cables, clean the battery posts, and verify the battery is charged. If that doesn't help, and you're comfortable doing repair, replace the Ignition Control Module.

1987t-Top Mustang with a 5 in it and am having some starting problems. When the engine is coldafter sittingfor 4hrs when its cold out it will not start. When the engine is warm it starts no problem but runs a bit rich. I have had this problem for a while now and at my wits end.

It could honestly be several things. I am currently having the same issue with my '93. Everything checks out fine. I have a brand new MSD Distributor, MSD 6A, MSD TFI Coil, Motorsport wires and Autolite 3924 plugs. The next thing to check is if you have pulse at the injectors.

Check the cap and rotor, or the module on the distributor or ignition coil. make sure you are getting power all the way to the distributor. most likely the problem will be the distributor module. should be the only connector on the distributor.
