What could be the cause of my feline having sticky saliva?

My cat's saliva has become very sticky and I have no idea how to help her.

Maybe she is dehydrated? I would consider offering her a lot of clean, fresh water and maybe some wet food as well, if she will take it. A good way to test for dehydration is to grip the skin on her back-- if it doesn't spring right back, she's dehydrated.

Sticky saliva may be an indication of dehydration in a cat. This can also be a sign of dental disease including gingivitis or stomatitis, or could also be due to nausea (and in that case the saliva may also be foamy).

Your cat's saliva could be sticky due to a Salivary Gland Cyst. It would be recommended to bring your pet to the vet as soon as possible to have the cyst aspirated and possibly removed surgically. Sometimes the cyst can be drained periodically using a temporary drain that would be installed in your pets jaw.

Well if your cat's saliva has become very thick, then it means she may be dehydrated. She needs to be drinking plenty of fluids. Provide your cat with more water as well.

a possibility could be that the cat isnt drinking enough water and it could have cottonmouth. The cat could also have been cleaning something off of its coat or its paws and gotten on the tongue, thats when u noticed it.
