I like to use semi-saturated cool color types, medium turquoise blue for example, with green. Some purples would work, too. To find many other options, get a color wheel at an art store, or look up 'color design scheme' or 'color wheel' to find a free color guide online. Look to nature for inspiration as well.

Green is made up of the primary colors blue and yellow, so it goes very well with shades of both these colors. When combined with tans and browns, there is a very earthy feeling to the combination. Bold colors, like magenta, work since nature combines them with gree in flowers.

Depending on the hue of green, many colors could match it. Yellow is always good to brighten, while earthy tones will mellow it, such as creams and tans, browns, deep reds, and burgandys. With certain types of green, blue can be very complimentary. Try natural colors. Even black can look great, though it will darken it significantly.
