It can be caused by an allergic reaction, or as a result of a surgery such as laser eye surgery or cataract surgery. If it is an allergic reaction, it will probably go away on its own. However, it is best to consult with an ophthalmologist for any problems that affect vision.

Corneal wrinkles are usually caused by swelling due to injury, lasik surgery or contacts that don't fit well. However, during lasik surgery, they make a "corneal flap" and flip the cornea over on itself. This causes folds sometimes. Regardless, it's usually just a temporary affect, but people have had to have them surgically removed if they affect the vision.

A wrinkle in the cornea is most often caused by ill-fitting contact lenses. The slight misshape tugs ever-so-slightly at the cornea, causing it to be pulled out of position. LASIK surgery can also occasionally cause a cornea wrinkle.

The cornea does not get wrinkled. It is the outermost covering of the fleshy part of the center of the eye and in the center most is the iris. The cornea is like a film, opaque and transparent.
