You dog could be suffering from a few things that could cause a red irritated mouth. It could be chewing on a foreign object that has sharp points or edges, it could have chewed on a toxic substance, it could have a bad or abcessed tooth causing the dog top rub it's mouth and scratch it.

If you see anything wrong in your dogs mouth, it is best to take the dog to the vet. That way the vet can examine your dog and give you a breakdown of the problems as well as give you some treatments for the dog. Plus you don't want to make matters worse by introducing anything from your fingers.

Your dog may be chewing too much. If you give them lots of treats and bones to chew on, it can take a toll on the inside of their mouth. Chewing is good for the teeth but give them bones in moderation.

Examine what he has been eating...it could be an allergic reaction to food, or it could be thrush or another infection of this nature. Ask a vet.

It could be an allergic reaction, or it could simply be raw from chewing on a toy. It could be chapped lips, just like a human gets! If it does not get better on it's own, I recommend taking your dog to the vet.

The dog could be having an allergic reaction of some kind and should see a vet if it does not got away.

That could be a result of contact dermatitis or some kind of infection that is causing your dog's skin to split and become raw. It is definitely a matter you would want to address with your vet.
