Hydrogen peroxide rinsing can be used to treat infections in the mouth. Some people also use hydrogen peroxide as an inexpensive teeth whitening treatment. Experts disagree on whether commercially available hydrogen peroxide poses long term risks of cell damage, so moderation in use is recommended. If used, it should be diluted with water and always avoid swallowing it.

The most important thing to remember about using hydrogen peroxide to rinse is to always dilute it and don't drink it. To dilute it you may want to add about a cap full of warm water to a cap full of peroxide and use like you would another mouth rinser. You may want to practice with mouth wash first.

rinsing with hydrogen peroxide should be done under proper supervision(dentist). it is useful when you are suffering from gum infections(anaerobic) and you are unable to do the regular brushing because of sore gums. washing with hydrogen peroxide in those circumstances prevents spread of infection and also stops bad breath. ask the dentist/pharmacist for the dilution ratio. concentrated peroxide can burn your gums.

Many toothpaste and mouthwash companies use hydrogen peroxide in their product to whiten teeth. You can do the same thing by mixing an equal amount of hydrogen peroxide with the same amount of water. Rinse for 30 seconds and spit. Never EVER swallow it. You can poison yourself.

Hydrogen peroxide is a gentle cleanser which bubbles on contact with anything acidic or basic. be careful where you use it as it can be very destructive to healing tissue.

If you have advanced tooth decay, or want some whitening it might help. But it is somewhat dangerous. Even if you don't swallow some will trickle down, and can have acute and chronic effects on some people.

Rinsing with hydrogen peroxide mixed with a cup of warm water is an excellent way to kill bacteria in your mouth and for whitening action to your teeth. As bad breath is caused by bacteria, this rinse should really help.
