A red pacu is in the piranha family but are generally not an aggressive fish. They usually grow up to 20" and should be kept in a tank 90 gallons or larger. The red pacu is a meat eater but it will eat pellet foods and various fruits and vegetables. They live best in natural ph and temps 72-82F.

Red Pacu are native to South America and can grow quite large. Unless you have a giant aquarium, at least 250 gallons, you shouldn't keep them.

Red pacu are related to Piranha but are not generally as aggressive. They are grey in color with red on their stomach and back fin. They are very fast and require large space to swim. They eat fresh fruits.
