Pelister (also called Baba Mountain) is the third-highest peak in Macedonia, rising 8533 feet. It is situated in Pelister National Park, which runs along the southern border adjoining Greece. The region is noted for unique geologic formations and well-watered forests; the higher-altitude areas are alpine and the area houses ski resorts in season.

Pelister National Park is the oldest of their national parks and ranks second in size and the ski resort helps to make it a popular tourist destination.
