Just as children repeat curse words because they've heard cursing, they mimick behaviors that they see. This is how they learn. If a child is aggressive it is because he has seen it in his parents, at school, or on television. Evaluate these influences and eliminate those that are harmful.

It is normal for toddlers to go through a period of being overly aggressive, especialy if there are any changes in the family. Try sitting with him or her when they become aggervated and talk with them about their feelings and concerns.

Toddlers like to communicate and often are frustrated by their abilities to express their ideas. Deliberately teaching them words and signs (ASL, baby sign) has lowered the level of expressed agression in toddlers I have known because they are understood and have a better way to share their worldveiw than through agression.

Toddlers will often act out in aggression if something is going on in their lives that they're not used to. If there has been a divorce or death in the family it could cause your child to be enraged.
