What can you tell me about a 17-year-old dating a 23-year-old?

A six-year age difference isn't much in the long run. The problem here lies in age of consent. In a lot of states, a person has to be eighteen or older in order to be sexually involved with someone who is over eighteen.

While I don't see anything wrong with it, I have been in the situation before. At those ages, they're worlds are just too different. Fun - but won't last.

Different ages is difficult, and it's against the law in many places. Both persons have different life experiences and the younger person is often more vulnerable. Wait a few years.

Check the state laws to see if your state prevents you from seeing this 23 year old. There is nothing wrong with dating someone who is older than you as long as you are on the same level of maturity. There are some people that just don't date people their age well because they're more mature.
