The best treatment for a sore on a horse is to clean it well, keep it clean and treat with a wound cream such as a furazone creme. Keep an eye on the sore for any signs of infection and call the vet if there is swelling or infection/fever. If the sore is minor it's usually best to not cover.

It depends on the size and type of sore. Minor scrape: wash, apply peroxide, and antibiotic ointment. Saddle sores & major injuries: See your vet.

Keep the wound clean. Protect from files using fly repellent. Wash gently with warm water, mild soap. Keep wound covered with layer of antibiotic ointment. Most wounds heal best if left open to air and not bandaged.
