Our pediatrician that it is normal for a boy to wet the bed until around age 7 due to the bladder not being fully developed. Our son wet the bed regularly until 7 years and one month. Then almost overnight the wetting stopped! Just be patient and reassuring to him!

Check with your doctor to rule out any medical reasons or stress triggers. Have the child drink more during the day to train the bladder to hold more.

A very large number of children wet the bed until their early teens and they do end up living perfectly normal lives. Remind your child that it is better and more comfortable for him to use the toilet at night but do not scorn him or make him feel he has done something wrong.

Reassure him that it is not his fault. Stop allowing him liquids about an hour before bed, make sure he uses the potty right before he falls asleep. If you can determine what time he usually wets the bed, wake him up just before that time to use the potty.

Be patient, and calm. Make sure he doesn't have any fluids after dinner. You might also get him up to go to the bathroom when you go to bed. Have him help change his sheets when he wets the bed.
