Try remembering pleasant times with your pet. Memories may comfort you. Get help from a friend, family member or professional. Your cat wouldn't want you unhappy.

Loss of a companion is traumatic but 6 months seems like a long time. If the grieving is interfering with your life (affecting your career or social relations), I would suggest getting counseling. It is nothing to feel ashamed of-people sometimes need help getting through the rough spots.

Please go out and meet your friends and socialize. You can also get another cat or pet. Do not stay alone. Do things you enjoy.

The death of an animal can can be as difficult to overcome as the death of a human. The best way to recover is not to forget but to honor it's memory by adopting another animal and know that you are helping one's of it's own or volunteering in a shelter to help it's friends.
