The matter is not and never was in your hands. His mother probably doesn't want him to go, either, but that is not a factor. He enlisted to serve the United States in the military. He agreed to undertake whatever assignments he is handed. This is not about you. Be proud and support him. He doesn't need negativity and drama.

Unfortunately, you can't do anything about your boyfriend being sent overseas. If he has already enlisted, then it is up to the discretion of the military. However, you can be supportive of his decision and show him that you care by sending him care packages to remind him that you are thinking of him while he is away.
