Make sure that he or she is getting enough fluids to ward off dehydration. You could also give your child binding foods like rice cereal or bananas.

Anybody with diarrhea should be given proper hydration. You should also consult a pediatrician because there are some special milk and medication for babies with diarrhea.

Always call your doctor if you have concerns. You can boil rice in water for several minutes and then feed it to your baby to help with diarrhea. Also cut out juice and sugars.

Make sure to keep your baby hydrated. That is the most important aspect of having diarrhea. Depending on your child's age, you should try a Pedilite type drink for hydration.

Put your baby on the diarrhea diet -- Rice cereal made with applesauce. After a day of rice cereal add bananas and toast. This is called the BRAT diet: Bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. Next add clear items such as Jello. Do NOT give him any milk. If he is thirsty give him water.

Diarrhea is very serious in a baby. Babies dehydrate quickly. Call your Doctor immediately as there are medications that can help quickly. Some are available over the counter and won't be very expensive. Be sure to keep clean diapers on the baby try to prevent chapping and rash. Be sure to tell the doctor the color of the diarrhea.
