Anything from natural odour to an infection. Likely your dog will need medication or some form of medical attention to irradicate the smell for good. A Veterinarian will be able to administer the correct tests to confirm what the cause is. It is always a good idea to have an annual health check or your pet.

Your dog could be having two problems. First it could be vaginitis or infection of the vulva, similar to a human yeast infection. Or it could be the dog's natural hormone odor from estrus (being in heat).

If your dog has a bad odor it's most likely that it rolled in something or it's bad breath. Your dog could've rolled in a lot of different nasty things and it has possibly dried up on its fur. Give it a bath and should take the smell away. If it doesn't then take your dog to the vet.

Any bulldog can suffer from gas as this breed is particularly susceptible to indigestion. It could also be something more extreme like a yeast infection or an infected toenail.
