Check with your doctor first, but if you are using formula, you may be using a type that may have too much fat content in it. If so, switch brands.

Make an appointment with your baby's doctor to make sure that your baby is normal for his age group. Breastfed babies are almost never overweight. If your baby is overweight, then work with your pediatrician to develop a plan that puts the health of your baby first. Never cut back or restrict food from a baby without medical supervision.

Proper exercise and eating habits are key to weight control, even in infants. You can stretch and exercise them when they can't, and make sure they eat a consistent diet of small portions of fruits and veggies all day long. Consult your doctor if you seriously concerned.

Be sure not to use food as a means to keep a baby occupied and entertained, and eliminate foods void of nutritional content.
