The spectacled bear, referred to as the andean bear by some, Is the native bear to the southern hemisphere. They get there name because of the color on them. It makes them look like they have on glasses. The bear is 6 1/4 ft tall and weighs almost 125 kg.

Tremarctos ornatus or the spectacled bear is the only known bear to be found in the southern hemisphere. It has light colored circles under its eyes which gives it its name. They are native to the Andes mountains.
