Most states, including Texas, will have an 40 hour maximum number of hours a person can work. Persons under 18 and still in school, cannot work past 30 hours, and cannot work overnights. Anything over 40hrs is considered overtime, and the worker MUST be compensated with time and 1/2.

Just the same as federal laws anything more than 40 hours a week is considered overtime, there are independent contractor laws which may differ just check and see.

You must be paid for hours worked. Hours to be worked are generally spelled out in the contracts of exempt salaried employees.

There are no "work hour" laws in Texas. If you are paid hourly, you are eligible for overtime. If you are salaried, it depends on your agreement.
