You can make air freshener with them by filling a spray bottle half full with bottled water and about 8 drops of your favorite oil. You can make a foot bath by filling a pan of warm water with 5 drops of oil and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.

Essential oils can be used for aromatherapy and skin treatments especially. Choosing oils for specific purposes can be difficult without a comprehensive guide to essential oils. Some uses also include helping with respiratory problems, healing wounds, calming the nerves, soothing your skin. Get a good reference book and only use the highest quality oils.

Essential oils can be used for their scent alone, to help calm (lavender) or energize (peppermint) one's mood. Some can be used on skin, to disinfect, or to promote healing. Others can be mixed with a base oil (such as apricot kernal oil) to make perfumes or body oils. Peppermint on the temples is often used to alleviate headaches.
