I think that if you knew that you were dying, that you would probably be in denial for awhile.Then maybe you would be angry, saying : ( Why me ). After awhile, I think that you would come to terms with it and accept it.

the five stages of death are denial, anger, bargaining, acceptance, and nial-denying that you are dying, Angry that it is your time, bargaining, "if you don't let me die, I'll be better person", depressed that it's you, and finally accepting death. Learned in Health class.

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross wrote a book in the late 1960's that has been a standard reference for your question you have asked. She references these stages of deah: 1. Anger 2. Denial 3. Bargaining 4. Depression and 5. Acceptance.
