drowsiness, constipation, and slowed breathing. However, an overdose, whether due to increased tolerance over time or one large single dose, can cause respiratory failure leading to death. Furthermore, if withdrawal from Oxycontin is not handled carefully, the effects are much like heroin withdrawal: severe flu-like symptoms, muscle and bone pain, and acute nausea.

You should be scared of it. It is very addictive and can cause long term brain effects. Like loss of memory and loss of motor skills. It is also easy to ovedose on, and people want it. It is one of the most commonly abused drugs out there and people who know you take it may try to steal it.

I took this after surgery and I noticed alot of Dry Mouth and a little bit of dizziness. Since I had been in pain for months and all of a sudden I was pain free, I wasnt too worried about it.

Aside from the possible long-term side effect of clinical dependency (addiction), the most serious potential complication of taking oxycontin is a possibility of respiratory depression which can be fatal. It might be worthwhile to talk to your doctor about this risk.
