The most common side effects among adults are nausea,vomiting,dizziness,akathisia,insomnia,anxiety. In children common are extrapyramidal disorders, somnolence,headache etc. The other side effects are neuroleptic malignant syndrome,depressive mentality and suicide risk,orthostatic hypotension, hyperglycemia,diabetes,leucopenia,increase in neutrophils(neutropenia),agranulocytosis,feeling of pain during swallowing(dysphagia). The most common side effect seen due to discontinue of treatment is schizophrenia.
