What are the potassium supplement limits?

I need to start taking potassium, but I heard it can be harmful if you take too much.

The optimum recommended daily intake is 4000mg per day, but potassium supplements are limited to 99mg due to the way they are made could damage your stomach in high doses. You would be better to drink orange juice and eat bananas both are high in potassium.

The right balance of potassium is essential to the proper functioning of your body. Generally, adults should aim for 200 mcg of potassium a day, which is about the amount found in banana. Anything over 17,000mcg can be dangerous.

Yes, you can take to much. First I would have a blood test to determine is you need supplements or if you only need to change your diet to include potassium.
