The most oustanding symptoms of this chromosomal disorder are learning problems in school and delays in emotional maturity. Boys with the syndrome often have speech and reading problems.

For most males with this condition there are no effects at all. There is a tendency to grow more rapidly than expected in early years and have about 7cms more that expected final height. There may be some delayed speech and language skills but most of the 1 in 1000 men who have the extra Y chromosome never know it.
