Sociologist analyze social phenomena at different levels and from different perspectives,but today they employ three primary theoretical perspectives:the symbolic interactionist perspective,the functionalist perspective,and the conflict perspective.

Symbolic interactionism considers symbols used in life. Functionalism focuses on society's abiliity to remail intact through cohesion of the various segments. The conflict perspective deals with society and its competitive nature. These three perspectives offer sociologists models to use when explaining the interactions within society and the forces that shape human nature.

The major issue in the future for sociology would surely be the adaptation of hundreds of millions of peoples, coming from poor or over populated countries to Western Europe and North America. Don't forget that until 2050 Earth will reach 10 billion people and surely this people will be too small for all of us.
