It is called desertion if he leaves with no forwarding address and provides no financial support at all. In order to secure a divorce, the wife needs to get a lawyer and make the courts try to find him.

Well, you are probably loose everything. Home, kids, retirement, wife etc. Yes, it is desertion. You better think long and hard if you are going to do this. You will be paying through the nose for everything.

When a family is broken apart due to divorce, parental rights as well as financial rights can be jeopardized. He can lose visitation to his children, or only be allowed supervised visits. There is also a possibility he may lose any rights to money he's worked hard to gain.

it all depends on what state you live in, but in general if he just leaves i dont think there is any, however divorce calls for splitting all assets.

The wife can knock the door of High Court for the share of her husband's property, and if the judiciary orders him to look after his any child then he has to obey it. Because this is her legal right whether she is divorced or whether she gets widow.
