What are the laws concerning common law marriage in Iowa?

Iowa recognizes this with: "intent and agreement to be married" (ie you both state and agree that you are married),continuous cohabitation, as would be normal for a married couple, ie, not living apart or separating for long periods except as required by job or military status, and represent to the public that you are married.

Common law marriage is after 7 years of living together in the state of Iowa in the same abode together.
