Any plant needs an optimum quantity of water. A plant needs enough water to suck in all the nutrients from the soil and also for other processes. If a plant is given excessive water that even the soil cant absorb,it will lead to weakening of roots and eventually destroy the plant.

The king palm is used to dessert conditions, but that doesn't mean those are ideal. Put it in well draining soil and water it when the soil surface feels dry to the touch.

Most palms do require plenty of sun, so it's good that you've got it in the sun all day. King sago palms do very well in full sunlight, but they can also adapt to outdoor shade , provided the indoor areas receive at least a few hours of sun.

As the king palm plant is a drought resistant one, it has to be watered at least once in two days. If surplus water prevails it could done twice.
