What are the different grades of ribs?

I want to learn more about ribs.

First off, there are many types of ribs including beef, pork, and lamb. The most common type of rib comes from pork. There are thre main types of ribs that come from different sections of the rib cage, including babyback, spare rib, and lastly rib tips.

These are the different grades of beef ribs: No. A 1 - Prime - thick, fleshy, lots of marbling of the fat No. 1 - Choice - a little less marbling of fat No 2 - Good - still shows marbling but not as much as other 2 No. 3 - Medium - average thickness No. 4 - Common - below average thickness No. 5 - Cutter - very thin, no fat
