What are the differences between social security for disability and regular social security payments?

Disability is when you are injured and you can no longer work. Social Security payments you get once you retire at 65.

Disability is for mentally/physically challenged, no age requirement. Regular payments are received by working and paying taxes into the program through your employeer then reaching the age of requirement.
