You start Pokemon Sapphire, Ruby, and the special edition, Emerald, with one of three basic Pokémon, Torchic is the Fire Pokémon that is available. Torchic evolves twice, first into Combusken, then into Blaziken. It starts out with the moves Scratch and Growl, but soon learns Ember at level ten, making it incredibly useful early in the game.
