Swollen feet can be caused by having to much salt in your body where it is holding fluid in your body. Your kidneys might not be functioning right either.

Swollen feet may be a symptom of a serious medical problem, but there are also relatively innocuous causes. Gravity makes fluid pool in the feet so standing a lot during the day can aggravate this condition. Anything that causes water retention such as a diet high in sodium or some birth control/ hormone treatments may do the same.

Some common causes of swollen feet inclue, but are not limited to, excess weight in the mid-section (often occurs during pregnancy) or subjecting yourself to inactivity. Be sure to find time each day to exercise and increase your heart rate.

Well if you aren't pregnant then the other reason could be the intake of sodium that is causing feet to swell.
