Anemia is classified as losing red blood cells. Causes can be lack of iron, heavy periods in women, eating disorder, and pregnancy. You may notice that you feel very tired and lethargic and may even look pale in color because you do not have enough red blood cells and they transport oxygen in the body.

Anemia is caused when your body produces too few healthy red blood cells, they are destroyed faster than they can be restored. Causes of anemia are a shortage of iron, kidney failure, a diet lacking in folate and vitamin B12, cancers of the blood or bone marrow and defective hemogloblin. The most common is iron deficiency.
