For double wide mobile homes, it is better to use Split Air conditioning unit or window air conditioning unit. The above mentioned air conditioning units are very simple and economical compared to other units. If you want heating also in winter conditions, Heating and ventilation a/c unit is better for you.

Most people will tell you that the top two brand names in AC units is Trane and Carrier. Before deciding on a model, contact a couple businesses that install units and have them give you a free estimate.

Depending on your back-up heat, whether it's electric or propane, a heat pump is a good choice, if it is natural gas, there is little advantage. Coleman, Nordyne, Janitrol, Goodman, and Heil all make quality units. Compare cost, warranty, and be sure your contractor is a certified dealer and not a reseller.
