The most common symptom of women who stop taking birth control pills is an irregular menstruation cycle. Some do not have one for months after stopping birth control. The consistency of the menstruation may vary too, to light to heavy. Nausea is often associated as well, along with weight changes, breast tenderness and even changes in the skin.

You will probably gain weight, and also your menstrual periods may become less predictable. You may also experience spotting in the short term.

1. Your period may become irregular or shift to its natural cycle, instead of the 28 day cycle the birth control pills caused. 2. It may become heavier, as well.

When you stop using birth control pills you may lose weight depending on the specific medication you were using. Your hormones will be out of balance, so you may have mood swings and your face might break out. Also your menstrual cycle will probably start and could be heavy and last for an extended amount of time.
