What are some ways to kill wasps using stuff I have around the house?

The problem to your issue is proximity. If the nest was not immediately next to your home, you could simply set it on fire in a controlled manner. However even smoking the wasps out of their nest would be a problem because of proximity. Best bet is to buy a can of wasp killer that has a long distance nozzle.

You can pour kerosene or diesel to cover the holes for killing wasps if they are in underground, but for outside nests, raid is very commonly used for getting rid of wasps.
