What are some unique toys I can give as a birthday present?

My triplet nephews have every toy you could imagine, I need something different to give them for their sixth birthday.

Purchasing craft and woodworking items and making a basket out of them would be interesting and fun. By giving a gift like that you can also maybe find the time to work with the child who is getting the gift.

K'nex or Magformers building sets are completely unique gifts - if you get more than one set they could easily share. Science and building toys encourage imagination.

I think that blocks are one of the best toys to inspire kids and enhance the imagination. Also, wooden toys are very special and good quality.

They may like some good classical toys such as Lincoln logs or tinker toys or maybe an etch a sketch.

At six, they are either in kindergarten or about to start. Give them a stack of educational workbooks or reading program like Hooked on Phonics. Give the parents an educational tracking chart with each child's name on it to record their progress.

Try getting them interested in something they can treasure for a lifetime. Examples: Get children's books about coin collecting and a set of coins from the year they were born; ditto on stamp collecting. Get them children's instruments and lessons to play music. Children's cameras and phot albums are another option.
